Dr Ilmars Lidums is a senior consultant gastroenterologist based in Adelaide, with more than 30 years of clinical and research experience. Born and raised in Adelaide, Dr Lidums studied medicine at the University of Adelaide before completing his specialist training in gastroenterology at Flinders Medical Centre, gaining his Fellowship (FRACP) in 1994. He went on to complete a PhD at the University of Adelaide in 2000, focusing on gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and the pharmacological control of the lower oesophageal sphincter.
